All Good Things....

On our final morning the sun shone brightly so we had a light breakfast and Grant and I headed to Warwick Long Bay on the scooter. Grant dropped me off there and returned to the apartment to pick up Dad. In the 40 or so minutes that I was there on my own, I was struck by the beauty and peacefulness of the spot.
When Grant and Dad arrived we took a walk along the beach and then while Grant and I did some final sunbathing, Dad walked along the surrounding coastal path taking photos. We left the beach just after midday and while Grant and I drove back on the scooter, Dad took the local bus.
It was here that he encountered a random act of kindness that really sums up our experience of Bermudians. Dad had stepped on the bus only to discover to his horror that he had only one instead of two bus tokens and no cash with him. Behind him stood a young local Bermudian who Dad had earlier said 'good afternoon' to and he could see that Dad was very embarrassed and was about to step off the bus. The young man stepped forward and with no fuss just paid the difference! We can only hope that karma prevails and the young man will be rewarded with good fortune.
Back at the apartment we put together a lunch using the items that were still remaining in the fridge and we cooked some veggie burgers on the outside grill. We sat and enjoyed lunch on the terrace and then psyched ourselves up for some post-lunch packing.
At 3pm Grant and I headed down to the ferry dock and jumped in for one final snorkel. We saw a few interesting fish including a large trunk fish but regardless, it was just great to be in the water one last time.
At 6pm Chris showed up at the apartment to take us to the airport. He casually drove us there pointing out places of interest on the way and at the airport we sadly bid farwell to Chris and the wonderful island of Bermuda.
